Experience I reached 18 years of being in a kayak on my 21st birthday,
Achievements 2nd place Mens HP at the Santa Cruz Surf Kayak Festival (2009). 7th mens HP World Cup Championships, 3rd Juniors HP World Cup Championship, 2nd juniors HP World Surf Kayak Championships, 2nd in men’s HP at the US National Kayak Championships (2005).
Biggest Adventure Besides all the adventures of paddling hard California classics like Upper Cherry Creek and traveling to Europe, South America and Central America to kayak, the biggest adventure for me is the UC Santa Cruz Kayak Club. I have made it one of my missions and goals to help grow kayaking as a sport. My contribution to kayaking is encouraging and creating a space for college students to learn how to kayak. I started the club in 2006 as a freshman, we had a hard time sustaining 5 members, now spring 2009, we currently have 30 plus members, many of which the kayak club has been their first exposure to kayaking. I am especially proud of the newest category at the 2009 Santa Cruz Surf Kayak Festival, The Collegiate Surf Kayak Team Challenge. Kayaking has taken me across the world, introduced me to many friends and given me experiences of a life time and now I want to plant that seed in as many people as I can.
