Experience	I started kayaking 6 years ago during one of my summer vacations. It all just spurred of that one fun experience. Kayaking has allowed me to travel the world and work on my years of high school in amazing environments. The past 2 summers I have competed all throughout the Colorado Freestyle Tour. I enjoy competing freestyle in all these cool little holes.
Achievements	Summited Mt. St Helens (WA) at age 12. One of the youngest persons to ever summit Mt. Rainier (WA) at age 13. Climbed Mt. Katahdin 3 times. Completed two century (100 mile) road cycling rides. Spent the past 2 years traveling with New River Academy visiting Canada, Chile, and Uganda. This year a group of us paddle the Garganta del Diablo Canyon and I’m the youngest girl to have run the Garganta del Diablo drop in Chile. 3rd in Junior Women’s USA National Point Series for 2010.
Biggest Adventure	In January 2011, I went to Uganda with New River Academy. This was definitely a big culture shock. The rivers and play features absolutely blew us away with how amazing they were. It was a sad day when we paddled the Silverback rapid section of the White Nile for the last time. They are continuing with the damming of this crazy wave-filled rapid. The cultural experience was amazing; one of my favorites was when we visited a Ugandan high school and played soccer with the kids. The summer of 2008 was true to my favorite saying, “You only live once but, if you do it right, that’s all you need.”
Experience of a Lifetime	Something I will never forget about attending New River Academy was the opportunity to experience amazing locations such as, Chile and Uganda, with my best friends. It’s was so cool to be able to run creeks and rivers with them, nothing will ever compare because we’re all in it together, supporting each other. It’s been amazing having so much support from all these people who are my peers for the past 2 years. I know from all these experiences, I’m taking away life-long friends always ready to hit up the next big thing.
