Achievements Won numerous kayak fishing tournaments throughout Northern California including the prestigious NCKA Kayak Angler of the Year (2007). Derby wins include the Santa Cruz Kayak Fishing Derby (2004), BAM III Lake Mendocino Striped Bass Derby (2007), Alameda Rockwall Halibut Derby (2009), and The Paradise Cay Halibut Hunt (2009).

When I’m not out chasing big fish with my kayak, I moderate one of the busiest kayak fishing forums on the web - NorCalKayakAnglers.com. I enjoy sharing my fishing experience and knowledge with other local fishermen interested in the growing sport. I’ve worked with the producers of Fred Hall Fishing Show and the International Sportsmen’s Expo to produce their kayak fishing programs and seminars.
Biggest Adventure I’ve landed hard-fighting tuna and dorado in the Sea of Cortez, sturgeon nearly the size of my kayak in San Francisco Bay; as well as big salmon, striped bass, and lingcod off the Pacific coast. However, I think my most memorable trip was with 20 friends aboard the Islander Fishing Charter out of San Diego. We had our kayaks mothershipped 100 miles offshore to the Cortez Banks. For 3 fun-filled days, we fished our hearts out in open ocean waters were no kayak had ever been. The yellowtail fishing was outstanding, but knowing that our charter boat was our only lifeline was very humbling.
