On April 22nd 2011, Team Expedition Paddler, comprised of Kokatat Ambassador Jeff Allen, Chris Millington and Harry Whelan, will set off to circumnavigate Ireland by sea kayak with a goal to beat the present record time of 33 days, set by Mick O’Meara and his team in 1990.

All three members are seasoned expedition paddlers with more than 15,000 combined sea miles below their keels which has taken them paddling through some rousing waters, including Japan, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. Harry also took his first lap round his homeland in 2000, which he accomplished in a folding kayak.

Ireland is a special kind of challenge, besides the challenge of establishing a new speed record, they will also have to journey down Ireland's remote and exposed west coast, high cliffs, heavy surf and strong winds; testing the teams commitment to the full.

As well as facing all of these incredible challenges the trio hopes to raise monies and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Action charity.
